This is my first time writing a critique that isn't for one of my friends, so please have mercy on me.
When I first look at this piece, my eyes instantly go towards the deep blue and green colours of that beautiful eye you've done so well. The glitter and different shades around it compliment it and make the deep turquoise stand out, although after the initial "So that's where I'm supposed to look", I couldn't stop being distracted by the entire bottom left part of the photo. This area is too bright, maybe the individual hairs that I can very clearly see draw my attention to the wrong place.
I do realize that this is more of a makeup shot than a photo, and by spaghetti monster, you did a very good job on that. like I mentioned before, the colours compliment the eye very well. I think my favorite part is the bright green on the upper lid, because of how gorgeous it looks contrasted to the dark eye. The glitter adds a stunning effect, adding glamour to the picture.
I've always despised the little plastic flower things that you've added there, as I've always found them cheap. In my household my mother glues them anywhere and deems the area pretty, so I may be biased when I say they're a little to chunky, distracting from the eye. But, when it comes to putting them in a good light, I've never seen someone do such a good job with them. Possibly you could have put a few less into the work so that I could gaze longer at the eye than the flowers.
The paper around the eye adds a very nice, "Sharded" or "Broken glass" effect to the piece. It draws attention towards the eye, in a very good manner. I like it. The only negative thing I can say about it is that when it gets to the bottom right part of the photo, it's distracting because it's in a lighter shade and I end up looking opposite of the place I'm supposed to look.
All in all, this is a very nice piece. The colours are stunning and soft at the same time, and the added objects around the eye do a very nice job pointing towards it, although a bit distracting at times. You could have made the bottom right corner less distracting, but it's not overly distracting to the point that it drives me crazy. You did an an absolutely wonderful job with the makeup.
First of all, I'd like to say that I think all of your eye art is absolutely fantastic. Each piece I see from you brings something new and interesting to my eyes.
This piece in particular is astounding. I love the different color combinations, and how you used pattered paper around your eyes. The blue, orange, and red contrast very nicely, as my view was taken over every detail of this picture.
You have a gift for color and originality. Your imagination on this piece really shows, and I'm also glad you have the means of equally good photography to further show your creativity. Keep up the terrific work, and I look forward to seeing more in the future!
