This picture is a true definition of the fairtale it's based upon. The simplicty of it is a pleasant change of pace from your usual energetic pieces, and it fits the theme perfectly. The red trails down from the eye seem to symbolise the coma Aurora was put in, though the event was softened in the film. That alone is effective as it demonstratres the darker tones of the story. The thorns on the eyebrow seem to be growing out of your skin, as you have used a tone similar to your skin colour, which adds another grim mood to the image, showing the evil piercing through Aurora's life, and emotionally deforming the person she was, though this is demonstrated physically. The flower, of course, is a wonderous effect that symbolises Aurora's beauty and the way the flora encased her while she slept. The green contacts add to the recurring theme of nature within this image and I believe it was a simple and yet marvellous technique. Now, the lighting. You have used the lighting to your advantage and have dramtically edited the picture for the better. The darkness around the eye demonstrates the idea of the rest of the world being blacked out, to symbolise her long sleep, while the soft lighting on your cheekbone and forehead symbolises the way out drawing near, an effective metaphor for the arrival of the Prince. And to add to effect you've even displayed the theme of sleep by simply closing your eye slightly. Overall, a beautiful image and weell thought out. Congratulations.
This is a beautiful piece! I love that you've pulled some macabre elements into a story that many Disney-a-fi. The flower literally looks like it's growing out of her face (and taking its toll, great blood!) and the thorns in the eyebrow are so unique. The only think I wold change is the jewel in the center of the flower. I understand that it might be a way to fasten the flower onto the eye, but it takes away from the realism of the overall composition. Perhaps try to find a more realistic center that serves the same purpose as the jewel.
love ur work, how do you add a posted art and show it in the description? like in the description you have the ariel and after hunt photos and i can see them with out clicking on them. how do yo do that?
